But now, things are getting even more exciting: next week I’m off to CERN, in Geneva, to film their WEBFest and collect footage for a film I’m putting together about Test4Theory, a volunteer computing project that literally runs the LHC simulation experiments on your computer!
Filming at CERN is something I never really thought I would get the chance to do, but now it seems rather close! things to remember from making Head Space are:
- Film still background shots for at least 10 seconds
- Focus camera
- When interviewing someone, don’t leave their face
- A face should always be in the same part of the screen, so if you start with them in a close up shot and their face is 1/3 in from the right, and 1/3 from the top of the screen, it should stay in that place when you zoom out
- Get LOADS of cut-outs
- Don’t forget to record sound!!
There are probably other things that I’ll remember to do whilst I’m there, but that’s all I can come up with right now.
After that, I’m heading to the BBC Radio 4 Science Unit, and with some luck I’ll hopefully be able to help produce some pieces for some of the shows.
It’s going to be an exciting couple of months, and I will be posting regularly about all the things I’m up to whilst I’m there.
