Charles Michener shares his passion for bees in this Q&A, as well as how he’s seen the research field and the bee population change over the last 80 years.
As part of this week’s Nature Outlook supplement on bees I had the opportunity to interview Professor Charles Michener on his life with bees.
For the last 80 years, Michener has been fascinated by bees, and now at 96 he is still continuing to do research and publish papers on these little animals.
The interview gave me an insight into how the mind of someone with a fierce passion for a subject works: whatever course their lives might take, they will always make sure that they make time for what they love.
